PERDIDA EN MANHATTAN

LA LUPE (AKA: LA GIGI) - ‘PURO TEATRO’

La Lupe (born Guadalupe Victoria Yolí Raymond) was a Cuban-American singer of several musical genres: boleros, guarachas and Latin soul in particular. Known for her energetic, sometimes controversial performances, she is considered by many to be one of the leading singers in the salsa music genre.

Among her many admirers is the Spanish director Pedro Almodóvar, who included her famous hit Puro Teatro in his black comedy film, Mujeres al borde de un ataque de nervios (Women on the verge of a nervous breakdown).
