Good Books - “Metamorphosis” by Buck
When Kafka meets Thompson… I. AM. IN. LOVE. WITH. THISSSSS! Now, this is truly stepping up the advertising game.
It is not very often that we have the opportunity to create a graphic equivalent of a drug fueled rant bringing all of our collective skills to bear. And it is almost unfathomable that we could actually do something like this and benefit a good cause.
The Buck team dug deep, channeling our inner gonzo, to direct and produce this homage promoting Good Books, the online bookseller that passes all its profits through to Oxfam. A big thanks to String Theory in NZ for bringing us this script, Antfood for their amazing audio stylings, to Thor for giving his voice and to all the artists who made this something we are proud of.

What you will see is an entirely fictional and completely unendorsed representation. [Though we humbly suggest Hunter S Thompson might have liked it.] We are devoted fans paying homage. No disrespect is intended.
OLEK with David E. Peterson - “Synthetic Nature” @ the Krause Gallery, NYC
Synthetic Nature is combination of technology and the organic. David Peterson’s machines help OLEK dominate the world in crochet; and this time its with balloons. There will be balloon costumed performers, animal balloon technicians, a balloon crocheted cave inside the gallery with peek-a-boo holes to look at the balloon crocheted photos of balloon crocheted performers, drum machines and synthesizers that produce balloons to create the entire atmosphere of latex dreams and some things you will have to come see for yourself.

For details: Exhibition Opening: Northern Manhattan as Muse
Mike Fitelson, a professional photographer of 20 years who is best known uptown for his nearly 10 years of work as a former editor and associate publisher at the Manhattan Times, knows the neighborhood inside and out.
So when the Washington Heights resident recently left his post at the bilingual community newspaper, he set out with his camera and pen ready to document the thriving art scene he has been observing for years.
The result is a 40-page booklet called “Northern Manhattan as Muse” featuring 17 painters, filmmakers, sculptors, drawers, photographers, performers, songwriters and playwrights from countries as diverse as Poland, Argentina, Russia and the Dominican Republic, whose works “pay homage to their lives in Northern Manhattan.”
“The art scene in Northern Manhattan has grown so much in recent years that it has become part of the fabric of the community, a place for strangers to meet and become neighbors,” Fitelson, 42, said.
“A subset of that arts community is the artists who have been so touched by what they have experienced Uptown that they have been moved to create artwork about it.”
