A YEAR IN ART 2010-2011

Photos by me, video by Pummelvision

Many people love putting together photographs, but it can be hard to find a way to do it that is unique, original and convenient. Pummel Vision takes the time consuming elements out of compiling a personal photo display. User can stop by the Pummelvision website and choose to pull images from one of their social networking accounts, including Tumblr, Flickr, and Facebook.

After compiling the collection, the user can share it (like I did) so others can view their unique photo display. The idea is that Pummel Vision allows the user to compile “flashes” of their life in a convenient video. Hope you enjoy mine.

Never Knew Love Like This Before…
Photos by Timothy Krause aka WarmSleepy

Sleeping in public is one of the rare pleasures that remains literally priceless, one of the last free rides in an increasingly expensive city, something enjoyable by the haves and have-nots alike…
Walt Whitman said, ‘I swear they are all beautiful / Everyone that sleeps is beautiful.’

People of NYC

1. The Queen of Queens aka Oswaldo Gomez - OG, the self appointed “Queen of Queens” has been spotted all over NYC, never without his trusted parrot and not pictured, his little poodle. Both of these creatures are just as colorful as he is, and although this picture was taken in Coney Island, he resides in Jackson Heights, Queens.

2. 867-53OOOH-NOT HER. Jenny C’est Quoi is a burlesque performer from BK.

3. Jack. Jack is from Key Gardens, Queens. Not much info on the man but is very kind and has an extraordinary face. “The lines on your face are a map to your soul.” —Paul Hewson

4. Gus. After serving in WWII, Gus attended LaGuardia Community College on a G.I. Bill he was granted after surviving a gunshot wound to the face. He spent a brief period of time working as a technician which he eventually abandoned to open up a restaurant in Brooklyn. Fortunately for him, it was a wise decision.  By the time Gus reached twenty five years of age in the late 1940s, the amount of restaurants he had opened outnumbered McDonald’s. His  restaurants catered to hot dog and hamburger lovers, where in the beginning they could be bought at 20 cents a piece. An insatiable, passionate, and personable business man, he worked seven days a week, eight hours a day, until the age of eighty. Now at eighty-six years of age and still as sharp as a tack, he is retired and living in Elmhurst.
